Atalasoft Releases DotImage v7.0 for Document Imaging Application Development
Atalasoft Releases DotImage v7.0 for Document Imaging Application Development
Company: Atalasoft, Inc.
Published: 19 January, 2009
Atalasoft, Inc., a leading provider of imaging components and technology for Microsoft .NET Framework-based developers, today announced the release of DotImage 7.0, the latest version of its imaging toolkit. DotImage 7.0 introduces several advancements in support of Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Web-based document image annotations, DICOM medical imaging, web-based PDF creation and viewing, and assemblies that are natively built in .NET Framework 3.5.
Atalasoft DotImage is a full-featured photo and document imaging toolkit for applications built using the .NET Framework for Windows Forms, Microsoft ASP.NET WebForms, and WPF. DotImage 7.0 now provides AJAX-based vector annotations. This means that end users will be able to author layered freehand, polygon, and lines annotations in any current web browser without downloading any add-ons or plug-ins.
DotImage 7.0 features enhancements to the DICOM medical image codec that now support Window and Leveling, improved performance, and access to the original medical device values. These new capabilities allow developers in the healthcare sector to quickly build advanced browser-based medical imaging applications. To help satisfy the ever-increasing demand for access to PDF documents, the PDF-authoring capability built into the Document Imaging edition of the DotImage toolkit now supports the creation of the PDF/A-1b format for long-term archiving purposes. This version of the DotImage SDK can also facilitate the creation of self-printing PDFs on the fly from within a web-based application, addressing the need to print documents from a zero-footprint image viewer.
"Atalasoft continues to experience significant growth, even during a down economy. We attribute this to our continued innovations in Web-based document imaging technology and focus on ease of use and customer service" said William Bither, Founder and CEO of Atalasoft, Inc. "Our focus on ECM Imaging development, along with our Runtime Royalty Free deployment model allows organizations across many industries to dramatically cut their IT costs."
"Microsoft is pleased to be working with Atalasoft to provide the .NET Framework developer community with innovative and competitive document imaging technology," said Brian Goldfarb, Director of the Developer Platform Group at Microsoft Corp. "The added support for Microsoft technologies, including Visual Studio 2008 and Windows Presentation Foundation, create new efficiencies for customers."
The DotImage 7.0 release also marks the improvements in speed and ease-of-use across all editions and several add-ons. TWAIN and ISIS scanning, OCR, barcode recognition, advanced document cleanup, and JPEG2000 and JBIG2 codecs, are supported as add-on toolkits to DotImage.
