dotMobi to Release DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET
Company: dotMobi
Published: 19 March, 2009
dotMobi today announced it is now accepting applicants into beta trials for a new edition of the award-winning DeviceAtlas(TM) mobile device database designed exclusively for developers building sites with Microsoft ASP.NET.
With DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET, developers using ASP.NET 2.0 and above will now be able to easily expand their sites to embrace mobile audiences as well as PC-based users. DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET will seamlessly replace Microsoft profiles with this new Web-based service.
Trey Harvin, CEO of dotMobi said, "Finding new and exciting ways to open the mobile channel to the developer community is one of dotMobi's ongoing goals. DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET significantly expands options for site developers. Today, ASP.NET supports approximately 400 mobile devices. With DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET, developers will have access to information on more than 4,500 mobile devices with monthly, weekly or even daily updates which they will be able to use seamlessly with ASP.NET mobile controls."
"General availability of DeviceAtlas for Microsoft ASP.NET is scheduled for April 2009," said Paul Nerger, vice president of Advanced Services and Applications at dotMobi. "To help us prepare, we're actively seeking applicants for beta trials of the service.
DeviceAtlas is a superset of existing mobile device databases and contains attribute information for more than 4,500 devices around the world, including leading-edge mobile devices like the Apple iPhone, RIM Blackberry, Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Amazon Kindle.
