Kangalert Releases Web-Based Crisis Management Notification Platform in Response to School Shootings

KANGALERT.COM, announced that it has released new technology addressing the crisis management planning problem for Universities facing crisis reporting delays. In response to recent campus attacks, University administrations and Campus Police Operations Centers have become increasingly dependent on the ability to alert students on cell phones via SMS instantly, which Kangalert has released proprietary technology for. Student groups and policymakers have long called for "a one button solution" that allows Universities to send an SMS alert message to the cell phone of every student in the event of a campus emergency, and Kangalert has already signed on over 500 cell phone networks around the world ensuring redundancy and near-saturational coverage.

Kangalert Vice President Jan Hoffer noted that "The crisis management scenario of Virginia Tech in 2007 was inappropriately handled by sending an email to students two hours after the event transpired, and as a result, more students kept arriving on campus well after the site was identified as a hot zone. Had there been a way to alert students on their cell phones, lives may have been put out of harms way. Prospective students will undoubtedly reward a University's investment in their safety."

Kangalert virtually eliminates the deadly reporting delay and appeals to campuses who want to communicate in real-time with students via Kangalert's web-based technology. Kangalert's notification software presents hope for students and advocacy groups who do not feel comfortable relying on in-house network dependency, and such groups are pleased with Kangalert being offsite.

As noted in the company's white papers, Kangalert has set up a complementary demonstration center where University faculty can test the speed of the system by sending a test message to themselves, thus increasing accessibility for faculty asking for a one-button solution.
