SQUAWK! (Multiserver Edition) monitors your Novell servers around the clock, 365 days a year and notifies you when there is a problem. SQUAWK! runs on a dedicated system which is attached to, but not logged into your network. It can be an old 386 or 486 PC. It also uses any internal or external modem down to 2400 baud to handle the pager dialing function. This function notifies the set contact person on discovering a problem with the servers. It has an on-screen display of the server being monitored that shows the server statistics, program failure messages, failure duration statistics upon recovery, and contacts paged with dates and times. The on-screen messages are logged to an ASCII text file with date and time stamps\; this file is viewable from within the program. A variety of selectable hard copy reports can be generated including a summary failure statistics showing enterprise-wide down-time, and detailed failure data.(for )
