Technically, TeamMessenger consists of im messaging server and im messenger client applications, compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. No database is required, although optional SQL Express, SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005 orSQL Server 2008 may be used to store User details. TeamMessenger presence indication is compatible with Windows SharePoint Services (WSS3), Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Windows Live, Office 2007 and other applications supporting Smart Tags. TeamMessenger security is provided by Windows Authentication and / or Active Directory, and security and encryption by Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
