Amethyst ShadowFX is a sun and shadow modeling application for architects and town planners. Shadow profiles can be quickly and easily generated without the need to input complex 3D objects, and data is presented in a highly usable and easy-to-understand format. Amethyst ShadowFX lets you generate shadow profiles cast by buildings and other objects for any latitude, longitude, and time of year. You can create various reports, drag and drop objects, and use the solar calculator to determine length and direction of shadows cast for any specific latitude, longitude, date, and time. It allows you to perform shadow modeling for horizontal overhangs and vertical fins, as well as zoom, pan, rotate, and print drawings, and modify layer color and visibility. The program also incorporates a free, fully-functional CAD viewer, which enables you to view AutoCAD DWG and DXF files (versions 2.5 to 2000).
