App-Link Ineternet Messaging System (iMS) is a developer tool for linking applications using inter-application messaging. Inter-Process Communication, or IPC, involves the transfer of information between independent tasks or program objects running on single or multiple computers. App-Link is provides a programmer with an intuitive and reliable mechanism for performing IPC in the Windows environment. Using App-Link, the developer can very easily exchange data between processes running on a single computer in a single application, on a single computer in multiple applications, or on multiple computers attached via a network connection. App-Link eliminates most of the low-level and mid-level programming associated with establishing inter-process communications necessary with Winsock, NetDDE, DCOM, and other technologies. App-Link is available in TCP/IP and NetBIOS versions.
