Black Whole is a PC security software program for laptops and standalone PCs. Black Whole is an on-the-fly disk encryptor. It is transparent to the user. Sensitive data is encrypted and decrypted without any specific action from the user. An administrator can specify which folders and files are to be encrypted, so only sensitive data needs to be encrypted. Alternatively, the administrator could encrypt the whole disk for cast-iron security. Features of the program include: a secure login, encryption of files and folders, automatic shredding of plain file remnants, a machine key recovery mechanism, multiple user support, remote recovery of passwords, encryption of all local and removable media, secure key management, and system administration facilities.
