The unique game system is a hybrid of turn based and real time genres, allowing players fine control and the ability to review games with video style playback. Each turn consists of 10 seconds of real time action, for which players need to plan and issue orders to their troops. Command options include opportunity fire, rules of engagement, and various special unit abilities. There is an accurate 'line of sight' system, and the terrain is destructible, with interactive features such as lockable doors, force fields and power cells.
