Mirek's Cellebration (Mcell) is a feature-rich cellular automata explorer. The program's main purpose is enjoying existing rules and patterns of Conway's Game of Life and other cellular automata (CA), and creating new ones. It supports ten different CA families, and is equipped with more than 130 rules and nearly 1,000 pattern files. MCell reads and writes patterns in all popular Life file formats, including Life, Generations, Weighted Life, Vote for life, Rules tables, Cyclic CA, 1-D totalistic CA, Neumann binary, User DLLs, and Special rules. The program's features include: dockable toolbars\; an active status bar\; a built-in file manager\; interactive zooming and panning\; automatic fitting and centering patterns\; and keyboard shortcuts to virtually all MCell functions. You can also customize colors and sounds\; save and use your own rules and patterns\; perform various analyses (statistics, transitions, correlations, and population logs)\; and save any pattern as a BMP file. In addiiton, the program includes drag and drop, mirroring, rotating, inverting, randomizing, seeding, and coloring capabilities\; supports Life 1.05, Life 1.06, RLE, dbLife, ProLife, Xlife, MCell and more file formats\; lets you load both DOS and UNIX files formats\; and much more.
