RideWay Private Network is an integrated proxy server and virtual private networking application for two or more linked computers, which can simultaneously share a single Internet connection. Internally, the program supports dial-up, cable modem, ISDN, DSL, satellite, and T-1 Internet connections, and includes security firewall and network tools, which allow network administrators to restrict and/or monitor the Internet activity of the client users on the LAN. Externally, it has core virtual private networking (VPN) features to enable a company to create a single, secured private network among users at corporate headquarters and branch offices, and among telecommuters and mobile workers (Each site must be running at least one copy of the program). All data transferred among these sites is encrypted (RC4 40-bit) to ensure security, and users can securely access internal Web servers, file servers, and telnet servers, and send sensitive e-mail messages among each other. No proprietary VPN or other client application is required as all actions are done through the common Internet browser.
