Allows you to monitor your disk drives for any crashing potentiality. The program can monitor the status of all SCSI, SSA, Fibrechannel, and IDE devices that are directly attached to your computer, providing you with a window of opportunity to gracefully remove data from a failing disk and take it offline before it is too late. It allows you to access the predictive-failure function native to most disk drives, such as those supplied by Fujitsu, IBM, Quantum, Seagate, and Western Digital manufacturers. S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) Disk Monitor monitors a hard drive's head flying height, temperature, spin-up time, retries, and internal error logs. If a drive is running outside of a vendor's specifications, you are alerted to the fact by e-mail. The program also runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
