Lets you configure over two dozen hidden or inaccessible settings in Windows 95 and 98. System Notebook lets you change many aspects of Windows without resorting to diving into the Registry. The tweaks are divided into six categories. In the System area, you can edit or delete entries in the "Add/Remove Programs&quot\; list, change disk cache settings, alter folder locations, back up and inspect the Registry, and more. In the Shell area, you can change the context menus that appear for different file types, change your Desktop icons, and organize your Start Menu. In the Startup area, you can set boot settings, determine programs that run at startup, and set the logos that appear when you start up or shut down. In the GUI area, you can add new entries to the "Tips of the Day", change your OEM information, and edit the document and run history lists. In the Network area, you can automatically log on and optimize your Dial-Up Networking settings. In the Listings area, you can easily edit various system files, including SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI. AUTOEXEC.BAT, and CONFIG.SYS.
