Trumpet Winsock for Windows 95 includes both the 16- and 32-bit versions of a Windows Sockets 1.1 compatible TCP/IP stack that provides a standard networking layer for many Windows networking applications to use. Trumpet Winsock includes a powerful scripting language and supports SLIP, PPP, PAP and CHAP, as well as connections to a local area network by way of a packet driver or shim and WINPKT under enhanced mode. This version is a combined 16 bit/Windows 95 release. It includes the normal 16 bit winsock.dll as well as the final release of the Windows 95 thunking layer. This layer converts, or "thunks&quot\; the 32 bit winsock calls down to 16 bits. This 32 bit layer is Windows 95 specific, so it will only run 32 bit applications with Windows 95. It will work with other operating systems, such as Windows NT, but you will only be able to use 16 bit winsock applications with it.
