After the long and bloody war in the kingdom of Azeroth, the Humans ventured across the Great Sea to escape the cruelty of the Orcish hordes and rebuild their empire. Eager to engage in battle again, the Orcish army constructed sea vessels and summoned flying creatures to follow the Humans and attack their coastal encampment. As the commander of either the Orc or Human forces, you must successfully construct and rule your medieval empire while engaging in real-time tactical warfare over land, sea and air. Manage vital resources, train units, and research magic as you fight for dominance. Using new weapons of war, including Dragons, Battleships, Elven Archers, Zepplins, Death Knights and Juggernauts, you must use combined-arms tactics in an effort to become the true ruler of Azeroth. The game also includes a new strategic "fog of war&quot\; feature which allows you to see only the activity within your units' line of sight. You cannot see the enemy's movement outside the fog of war, but you can see the terrain of explored areas. This adds a whole new level of strategy as scouting and sentries become vital to defending your territory. Warcraft II includes support for head-to-head play over modem, serial-link, and IPX network.
