XML website publishing system. XPublish is the first commercially available professional XML authoring and publishing system. The application provides dialogs to create, inspect and modify XML markup, liberating the author from detailed knowledge of the XML specification. It provides an extendable markup editor resembling the powerful Emacs editor, but with Mac ease of use. The editing environment will be dynamically tailored to the document types (DTDs) and declarations of the author. XPublish generates HTML pages from XML documents at publishing time. Thus, web publishers can benefit from the efficiency and flexibility of XML when creating sites for todays browsers. All XML content is maintained in an object database for speed and concurrently as markup files for flexibility. XPublish gives web developers the advantages of one-source publishing without the overhead and complexity of full SGML.
