GEMI Releases Version 3.0 of Interactive Sustainable Development Tool

The Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) releases today a new, enhanced version of its interactive sustainable development tool, the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway.

"GEMI is very pleased to announce the release of version 3.0 of the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway, a tool that allows users to create a sustainability baseline, and assess and implement performance improvement opportunities," said GEMI's Chair, Bob Accarino, Director of Global Environmental Affairs, Abbott. "This tool is the result of a collaborative effort and leadership of GEMI company representatives. We believe the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway can help an organization implement its core business activities in a more sustainable manner," Accarino continued.

"We have updated and enhanced the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway with new user-friendly features that improve the ease of accessibility and encourage interaction between users," said GEMI's Sustainable Development (SD) Work Group Chair, Keith Miller, Manager, Environmental Initiatives and Sustainability, 3M. "Users now have the ability to easily browse through case examples by category and search for specific case examples by keyword, as well as tag case examples as 'favorites' to revisit later," Miller added.

GEMI's Tools Committee Chair, Maurice Bechard, Director, Global Environment Health and Safety, JohnsonDiversey said, "A new section has been added to the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway allowing users to learn about and access GEMI's many other tools and resources directly through the software."

"The new features and enhanced functionality of the GEMI SD Planner(TM) and SD Gateway improve the user experience and will help companies around the world stay informed of the new tools and resources available to them as they work toward their sustainability goals," Miller concluded.
